How To Make Changes To Your Site - Submitting Edits To DigitalWork Versus Using EditWorks

Having a web site for your business doesn't help if the information is incorrect or out-of-date. When customers visit your web site they need to know the service(s) you provide and/or the product(s) you offer. As a TotlalWebSolutions customer, there are two methods available to edit your site.

Asking DigitalWork to Edit Your Site:
If you are not comfortable editing your site yourself, DigitalWork is happy to make changes for you. We request that edits be submitted in writing. Print out the page(s) you would like to be edited from your site, write the changes on the page, and submit by Fax, or US Mail along with any supporting materials (for DigitalWork contact information, please visit www.digitalwork.com/contact.html). You can also email edits: just indicate the name of page and a brief explanation of the edits you would like done. Once we have received the request for edits, we will contact you to confirm and discuss the work.

Editing the Site Yourself:
You can edit your web site yourself - anytime! EditWorks enables you to add new text and images. This is a great way to update daily or weekly specials, offer online coupons, show new products, announce new features, list new staff members, or even run customer appreciation programs online! It's an easy way to keep your site looking fresh. Work the site, so the site can work for you.

To use Total Web Tools:

• You must be using Internet Explorer version 5.5 or greater or AOL 6.0 or greater, and be connected to the Internet.
• To access the tools section of your web site type in www.yourdomainname.com/:tools in the web site address window of your browser (replace www.yourdomainname.com with your actual web address).
• You'll be asked for your username and password (which is case sensitive). If you don't remember your username/password, please refer to your Live Notification letter.
• After entering your user name and password you will see a page that says, "Welcome to Total Web Tools!" Through the Total Web Tools console you are able to edit the content of your site (see below for more details).
• On the right side of the page there is a button "Learn More". Clicking this you give step-by-step instructions on how to edit your site.

Editable Areas: The only area that is editable on your site falls within the green dotted lines. Therefore, there are a few things you are not able to edit in your site:

• Header -- Appears at the top of every page and usually displays the business name and company contact information.
• Navigation Buttons -- Buttons that take you from one page to the next.
• Footer -- Appear on the bottom of every page and usually displays the company contact information (Note: not all web sites have a footer).
• Background Color or Background Image -- The color or image uses for the background design of the site.

If any changes need to be done in any of the above, please send DigitalWork the edits, and we will make the changes for you.
